Do you have multiple mailing list in your MailChimp account? Is your account a paid account? If you answered yes to both, then you are potentially paying twice for one subscriber if they’re on two lists. Create GROUPS in MailChimp is a great way to reduce cost and it enables you to control your master list more efficiently.
What are groups?
Groups are categories created within your list that groups people together by their interest or preferences. Whatever you establish the groups to be. For example, you might have business weekly, business monthly, coaching, VIP Promotion.
It enables you when creating a newsletter to only target those specific groups, not everyone.
How to set up your groups
- Go to your LIST page
- Click on MANAGE SUBSCRIBERS
- Click on GROUPS
- Click button CREATE GROUPS
- Type in Group Details and all names needed, e.g.: Weekly, Monthly, etc
- Click SAVE
