What is your business about?
I support people in clearing clutter in all areas of their lives: physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, energetic, relationships, health, finances and more. I do this through professional organizing, speaking, decluttering and coaching. I also coach other professional organizers and entrepreneurs.
How long have you been in business? And what has been you’re great highlight to date?
I have been in business since July 1, 2009.
Other than still being in business, I am most proud of two awards I received in 2011:
Los Angeles Award: The Green Award for Most Eco-Friendly Organizing Service (National)
Triangle Business Journal’s Green Entrepreneurial Effort/Innovative Idea of the Year Honorable Mention. (Regional)
I also got to meet Peter Walsh when I won my award. I am a big fan and he couldn’t have been more kind or gracious. I also interviewed him for my internet TV show.
Night of dancing or relaxing with a great movie? Which & Why?
Great movie! Although we love to travel, we are homebodies. My husband snuggle on the couch and then have a wonderful discussion afterwards. We just saw Dr. Strange at the theater and will be having many more interesting conversations when we watch it from home.
Do you have a funniest business blunder that you love to tell?
The funniest thing that happened to me was on my very first job! I had been doing an entire home organization and had already done a lot. The client had an enormous pantry and I started on it and had a complete brain fart. It was like I lost all my knowledge. I took a deep breath and centered myself. After a few minutes, I was able to go again. I can laugh about it now, but I was stressed during those few minutes!
I’m a shoeaholic, yes I have over 100 pairs of shoes….it’s a good thing there are 365 days in the year so I can wear them all. What are your most treasured shoes and why?
A pair of leopard print clogs. Leopard print is my favorite, they are super comfortable and go with a lot and most importantly, they were a gift from my husband.
Do you have any exciting things happening in your business you’d love to share with us?
I host a podcast Clearing the Clutter Inside & Out. It’s been very successful. It’s in the Top 20% of podcasts downloaded. I am very proud of that because my numbers are legitimate and I wasn’t famous or had a built in office.
I am redoing my website that will be launched soon. I am also launching a mastermind for people who are looking to clear clutter from their lives.
And I will be releasing my first official book (I recently created an online course) on Amazon shortly.
Who is your all time favourite Actress / Actor, and why? (and yes you can have more than one)
Patrick Stewart. He’s handsome, someone who you would choose to have your back, is talented and kind. A friend’s car died in LA and it was a rainstorm. In the days before cell phones, she knocked on a door. It was PS! He let her in to use the phone and offered her tea. Most celebrities wouldn’t do that.
Being a Virtual Business myself and being able to work with clients around the world from my location. Do you have your own virtual team? If yes, what is the one thing you love about them?
YES! One of the things I LOVE about technology is you can create the BEST team for YOU! I love that they are the right fit for me and it doesn’t matter where they live. It’s important to have people you can trust and that you are a good personality fit with and believe in you and your work.
What was the one key thing you needed to do to prepare yourself for bring in a virtual team member?
Being organized! It is so important that I can find what I need easily when working with a team member. I don’t want to hold someone up because I am late or can’t find what they need. Also, good communication is vital.
Which is your favourite season?

A) Romantic dinner for 2 at fine dining restaurant
B) Movies and popcorn, and little to no conversation

What things do you do to help you maintain a work/life balance?
I meditate on a regular basis as well as go hiking weekly with my husband. We have two rescued black cats, Joey and Antonio, who remind me daily what’s most important. I try and exercise regularly and eat fairly well. I love to read and a bubble bath is my woman cave!
I see a coach monthly as well as participate in two monthly women’s group. I am constantly working on being the best version of me. As I clear my inner clutter, it supports me in supporting others.
